Apparantly it's not so much her grinding pit yakka accent, more to to with her being too skinny for American TV.

LIZARD! Youre just too bad man Ha ha ha!

Man she looks chunky in that pic !laugh!

I think Cheryls hot and if I had the chance I definitely would! Who gives a shit about a dodgy accent if the girl is super hot. Just as long as she doesnt sound like a man because...well that can be seriously off putting

Have to admit her accent doesnt sound like it goes with her good looks in the ads but hey, thats how it goes in the world.

Shes blessed with a pretty face and a hot body and that should count for something

Hadaway n shite bonny lads. There's nowt wrong with our Cheryl. She's a gorgeous lass with a heart of gold. Last time I saw our Cheryl was when I was out on the toon in the Bigg Market where she bought a few bevvies.

Maybe am tarking shite but I reckon she's gonna make a comeback to American X factor. Just like Lazarus, but not the Lazarus that played midfield for Spurs. The other one.

Any of you lot seen where I put me Newky Brown?

Girls Aloud phoawr. I could give those lasses a right shaking.

Howay the lads.

She'll probably make more dosh out of not working, stories on her rejection etc. than she would if she had done 'the show'

Cheryl's dress sense leaves a lot to be desired of late. Check this out, I don't think I've seen anyone dressed this ridiculously in a long time.

Cheryl looking ridiculous:

and, to the other extreme, Cheryl looking very nice:

The notion that she was sacked because of her accent is laughable & just a cover story put out. Apparantly FOX network were never keen on her, she wasn't a big enough name & there is reportedly frostiness between her and Ms. Abdul. It's probably a mixture of those facts and that the Yanks don't have a clue who she is? The British X Factor isn't shown over there & she's never had a hit out there either solo or with Girls Aloud. There is a guy on the judging panel on their version who i have never heard of in my entire life, but apparantly he's this massive record exec/record producer out there who is really well known. For them to have Cheryl on there is a bit like us having that guy on our British version, i don't think viewers would warm to that!

If you need proof she wasn't fired for her accent look no further than Steve Jones. He's still hosting the show with his thick Welsh accent & he's even harder to understand than Cheryl!

Even if she is not known, there are ways of selling her to the public that generally work. Tags like 'one of the hottest stars from across the water', 'the woman everyone is talking about' (even though no one is, if they convince Joe Public that everyone else apparently knows of her, even though they don't, the individual person hearing this gets on board), and things like 'the next big star here in the USA - Cheryl Cole!', this sort of thing generally works. That guy and girl in the Harry Potter films became big stars on US chat shows when the first film was just starting to emerge (they were both very young), and of course Simon Cowell went from nobody to megastar in the USA through similar clever marketing. Convince the average suburban TV viewer that they are the last to know and they lap it up.
