"My last major use of the NHS, under your wonderful Nu Labour control, was a shambolic mess."

THank you for your definitive evidence, Peter. Previously I thought Labour had done a good job on the NHS, but your experience has completely changed my views.

Poor Jimbo...

So much hatred.... so little understanding.

"As you can see most people don't really give a toss either way."

This may or may not be true about this forum, but it is certainly not true of the electorate as a whole which is why Cameron kept totally shtum about these plans in the Tory election campaign. He knew it would be an electoral disaster to say "Hey guys, we are going to introduce the biggest change to the NHS it has ever seen. Even bigger than the original bill when it was created, but worry not, it is safe in our hands!"

Oh dear Jimbo...

"I took the opportunity to allow myself to remember the NHS BEFORE 13 years of New Labour."

May I apologise to you? Thanks for reminding me Jimbo of the halcyon days of the NHS under Margaret Thatcher and John Major. SIlly me. I had forgotten how THatcher and Major supported the public sector fantastically well and would never have dreamed of selling off industries and organisations owned by us and paid for by us, to their City chums at knockdown prices. Instead they ploughed huge sums of money into the public sector to make sure it was fit for purpose. They defended our public sector whilst Labour destroyed it. Quite right, James

Just as Cameron would never introduce privatisation to the NHS. Eh?

Before I get another Daily Mail

lecture from you Jimbo on how wonderful the Tories are, it is worth pointing out that when I state

"Just as Cameron would never introduce privatisation to the NHS. Eh?"

I am aware that Labour made use of the disaster of PFI in the NHS and used private facilities to bring down waiting lists etc.

What I am talking about is Cameron's move towards an American style of health services.

Rant away bonny lad!

Why do you always do this really annoying thing, where if someone dares to question or even pose an alternative view to your New Labour dogma and "official view of The World", it seems to translate in your brain into the following:

He reads the Daily Mail
He loves Margeret Thatcher
He is a rabid Tory

You have no idea how dictatorial and pig headed this style of argument makes you appear. It shows you to be as fearsome and narrow minded as the Daily Mail would have everyone believe that ALL New Labour supporters are, little Stalinists in waiting. Little Arthur Scargills ready to mobilise his henchmen to crush any view other than his own! Sending them to battle with the cry, "Don't worry lads I'm right behind you, just got to check on my pension fund first and I'll be right there!"

Stop trying to re-educate people to believe in the same crazed and warped World that you believe in. People HAVE A RIGHT (If you know what that means) to believe or at least peceive things however they want, without the likes of you stamping all over these beliefs with a hail of abuse and condescension!

Oh do calm down, Jimbo

This is what you posted. You have obviously forgotten.

Just a quick thought before I'm lectured on how, "Everything was just peqchy in the NHS" under New Labour, I took the opportunity to allow myself to remember the NHS BEFORE 13 years of New Labour.

For example I seem to remember being able to get my teeth sorted out without having to take out a mortgage. I also seem to remember I was with an NHS dentist. I also seem to remember being able to get a doctor to visit you at home. Also I can't recall medicine being regarded as a "Lark" to rake in loads of money, it was a "Vocation", does anyone remember what that means? lol I don't recall GP's managing to do less work but earning ?200,000+ per annum!

I am sure that you will correct me with a veritable tsunami of stats, but it is my impression that New Labour turned many aspects of the NHS into a casino like money spinner for management, doctors, surgeons and administrators. Of course everyone else like porters, nurses, cleaners etc were all left to rot!

Now Jimbo, I know you hate answering questions and reading facts it causes you to rant etc etc but...

Reading the section from your post above, do you give the impression that the NHS was far better under the Tories than Labour or not?

Simple enough question. No need to get all worked up.

"What a smarmy cunt you seem to be.

The type of person who would say it on the internet but not to someone's face for fear of a smack in the gob."

Err, like "smarmy cunt" you mean? Personally I can't remember calling anyone on this forum a cunt. Each to their own of course.

By the way, I notice that this is your first post. Welcome to the forum!
