I think initially he will be a bit like how Alfie Moon, played by Shane Ritchie, was when he started. Very popular, a bit of a wideboy but his heart is in the right place, central to the show as he is guv'nor of the Queen Vic, and the honeymoon period will last a short while. Then because of naff storylines following naff storylines the honeymoon period will end and the viewers won't care much about the character either way. As I said at the top they have a great opportunity with this, the show really is struggling now and has lost millions and millions of viewers, but I really fear they will blow it.

'Hollyoaks Later', the late night spin off of the teatime show, is on next week. I've seen some trailers for it and I notice that Danny Dyer is in it! He certainly gets about, going from one soap to another. Hollyoaks next week, then Eastenders in a couple of month's time. Perhaps he'll do Corrie after that!
