What i want to know is will he get a ?10,000 fine and a criminal conviction.
The only thing that might save Harper is the fact that his cleaner was self-employed rather than being employed directly by Harper. Self-employment is the way agencies can get round the minimum wage and the mechanism that agencies used to avoid restrictions on immigrants coming in.
Apparently some "legal experts" argue that employing an illegal immigrant who is self employed is not in itself an excuse. ?5K fine could well be coming Harper's way.
We will see.......
