I have a feeling that the director/production company befriended a supermarket owner/administrator and had access to it for a few hours, and decided to set some sex scenes there. They thought it would make for an "interesting" and novel set up. I mean you when you run out of couches and beds to shoot in, a supermarket does offer some very novel locations. But the sex scenes in the movie are rather lame (even for the time) and not that hot either. Most of the women react rather passively and seem to being going just through the motions.

Of course they're (very) filthy. With sperm, pee, spit, lube, paper, condoms, left over snacks, wires, etc. If the male is wearing shoes, running shoes, socks, it's pretty obvious why. If they show the females wearing shoes, we are led to believe it's "sexy".
