No problem. It's just that people think that if they pick up a 300 page
book of a cursory history of porn they believe everything there is to
know.
Do you have any clue how many books have been written about
mainstream cinema in the last 70-80 years? How many have been
books really about cinema history? How many can you say were
accurate, somewhat accurate, full of inaccuracies?
So you know what was being produced in Germany during WWII, what
was art of pure propaganda? Silent film history? If I were to ask you about 70m
widescreen film gauge and which films were first shot in that aspect,
do you know? Do you really know the movies and career of Chaplin,
Keaton, Langdon, or do you think you know because you saw perhaps 2-3
of their movies? Have you ever seen them on a big screen, in a movie
theater?
Do you know when color films started being made? Which were the first feature
movies in color for major countries?
What about animated movies? Horror movies? Westerns? Sci-fi?
In which movies you first heard four-letters words or the word "fuck".
Explicit sex in mainstream movies, would probably cover a whole book in itself.
Censorship in the movies would be another huge book in itself.
Even if you were to pick up a book about the history of porn, do you
think they would tell you in which movies anal, DP or facials first started to appear,
shaved vaginas? Do you know why Japanese hc movies are pixilated?
You need to start somewhere in your research, and no one single book on the
history of porn will tell you everything you need to know. But you also have to
understand the movies, their contents, the directors, performers, etc
