Re: O/T Full Contact Girls - point of order

Post by vila »

Well said, Marcus, you echo what I've said on here several times.

However, if I'm reading all this correctly, I think you and the other posters above are all talking about The Adult Channel, whereas I believe Richard is asking for opinions of The Playboy Channel which precedes it every night.

I can't comment on that cos I've never watched it - wasn't available on ITV Digital for some totally unexplained reason - and I don't have Sky or cable at the moment, but I have bought some of the 'Specials' released on video. These are OK, but as I got them in order to get particular featured models (Jo Guest, Kathy Lloyd etc) I would think that, wouldn't I? :-)

Jason, I totally agree with you.

I dont think, as Dave Cook has explained why recently elsewhere on this board, that we can expect TAC to break the censorship law. I believe thet go as far as they can, even sometimes going beyond the line. Indeed I picked up a rumour recently that TAC are toning down the more recent shoots.

Playboy is I suppose a softer lead up to TAC, and has to be before 9pm but lets have more British programmes not just US imports.

Programmes dont have to be hard core to be enjoyable - they need to be imaginative and I think you can do well on that score; I have seen some fetish orientated programmes by accident that were worth recording.

Point 5 about schedules is so right. They need to be more detailed AND ADHERED TO! Then viewers knowing whats on can tune in to see what they want or record it to view later.

Ok Dibble you are correct with what you say I supose it is Pro/Am but it is mostly shot in the style of 'Mr Brithleswait across the road' using alot of 'girl next door'ladies and couples who have not appeared on TV before.

The problem is alot of the material submitted by 'Mr Brithleswait' is un-suitable for various reasons or by the time it is cut to be made suitable for British viewing the remaining footage is not long enougth to make a decent show.

I think you will find our videos are as close to 'Mr Brithleswaits' as it is possible to get.

Well said Chris, Dibble seems to put his case across as if he's the 'spokesman' for the whole industry. He isn't! He hides behind an alias and makes sweeping statements about the industry, but won't come out of the shadows and stand up and be counted like most of the professionals who post here.
Like people who call mobiles from witheld numbers, I ignore them!
Keep up the good work Chris!

I hear you.

Really? The repeat rate is pretty low (much lower than other Cabsat channels, higher than terrestrial).

Fair enough. But do you actively dislike the US stuff or is it just that it is too skewed towards it? If there was loads of French stuff, for example, would that be better or worse?

Fair enough. I actually don't think amateur stuff sits very well with our brand, so that's not likely to change.

Where do you look for our listings? Frankly, I'm appalled at how little listings coverage we have, but where we are available it should be 99% accurate. It also frustrates me that NTL can't seem to consistently deliver EPG information.

Is that because it's no good, or just because you don't know what's on?

Thanks and I'll look forward to reading it.

Thanks. Again, though, where do you seek out your listings information?

Is there anything that you wanted to record that was pulled?

Interesting points, not sure I agree about "forgetting about hardcore". If only we had the luxury! But then there's more to erotica than porn, agreed.

Does that mean we're doing the right thing, then? We fulfil most of these requirements.

I appreciate its not what you asked for BUT it does highlight the perception producers have of TAC as a whole - the whole we are bigger then you thing. That may help to explain why there isnt a lot of British contenr available

Heavily snipped...

>> The repeat rate is pretty low (much lower than other
Cabsat channels, higher than terrestrial).

Fair comment - I may be talkig historically but if it is a repeat how anout listing it as such in the TV guides and not having them shown at the prime times like 12.10am?

>>Do you actively dislike the US stuff or is it just that it is too skewed towards it? If there was loads of French stuff, for example, would that be better or worse?

I hate 99.999% of US porn full stop - most of the women are not appealing to me and they are generally too loud and obnoxious. Nothing against French or German porn etc as such but still prefer Brit stuff!

>> I actually don't think amateur stuff sits very well with our brand, so that's not likely to change.

I am not talking about Joe Bloggs doing a show of his wife with his ?299 camera from Dixons in the lounge of his 3 bed semi in Basildon as someone said above. I mean amateur girls as in not models but filmed by professionals - I would like to see new faces and not all stereotypical page three stunnner types. Normal everyday woman stripping for example is a massive turn on for me - they dont have be doing hardcore or whatever to appeal.

>> Where do you look for our listings? Frankly, I'm appalled at
how little listings coverage we have, but where we are available it should be 99% accurate. It also frustrates me that NTL can't seem to consistently deliver EPG information.

I am on Sky Digital and I usually look in the Sky guide (I think) - the main issue is the lack of info on who is on a show etc though

>> Is that because it's no good, or just because you don't know
what's on?

Bit of both really, I need a reason to watch now (like the Big Bang, for example) - I wouldn't dream of turning it on of a night just to watch.

Thanks for replying
