Wouldn't you agree it's the person behind the camera (as well as in front, of course) rather than the camera itself that makes the shot?

I recently ditched the Fuji S3Pro in favour of the Canon 20D

But whatever the camera, it's how you use it, it's just a tool, you can have an expensive super dooper hammer drill, doesn't mean your always gonna drill neat holes in the right place lol.

But to answer your original question....

The lighting in that kitchen set was nothing special, it's very small so a medium softbox with the amount of white in there bounced the light around nicely, I rarely use reflectors, the more simple the set up the better for me and gives me more freedom for angles. I tend to flood fill scenes by choice, not very artistic I know but hey it's only porn right? ;o)

Well yes but I have noted that the problem with the Digital shooters is all the pictures have the same depth lacking warmth and once you have seen one you have seen the set. Now that might be ok but surely the goal should be to get back that 35mm imagery on a digital?

...'twas I who enquired after SimonD's camera, and without wishing to seem pedantic, I've played around with both the D70 and 20D a fair bit this summer (thanks Jessops!) Canon's 20D is far better suited to glamour photography than the Nikon imo...straight from the camera pictures have far more 'punch', better saturated colours, and image depth.

Would be interested to hear whether Simon routinely feels the need to twiddle his 20D images with Photoshop prior to posting 'em...

Nope, I try never to twiddle with my pics and get them right in camera, only post processing I do is resize, sharpen, add logo, save for web.
(except for the first pic, where like a twat I left family photo's in the background and had to airbrush em out!!!!)

However I am dabbling with creating a better colour profile in potatoshop to try and replicate that Fuji colour pop.

I reckon your right about the punch of the Nikon which is similar to the Fuji colours, but the Canon just delivers a far better quality sharper pic and with the right lens it's a superb bit of kit )

But one thing remains the same, put a great model like Renee in front of any camera and the pics go down well lol.
