Help on movie format for website

I've also used wmenc before and thought the results were pretty good. Try encoding a DVD quality video at 1 mbps VBR and see what the quality is like. It will give you a framesize of 640x480 which will be fantastic for a members area but might not meet your 8mb per 2 mins requirements.

the main thing is to offer your readers quality. you may have noticed that some of the so called adult industry players dont bother too much with quality and will put any old shite in the members area later moaning about having their passwords shared and downloads robbed. it does seem strange to spend time getting the set right and getting the models to do this and that capturing high quality footage on the day and then output low res mpeg1 which when you select full screen mode blotches and crackles.
members dont only want quantity they want quality so its a double Q

I agree about quality, that is why im so bothered about getting this right as its very important to have a great quality website in all areas from design to content. Too many websites out there rip people off and there's no way I am going to be another. I must say though that all the websites owned by people on here look great. Lovely design and content.

Tas and redalert, I want to say a big Thankyou. I have finally got what I needed. A great quality 640x480 wmv - 14mb for 2minutes 17 second file. That winencoder works a dream.

Seriously though, if I may make a suggestion, it's an idea to consider who your target audience is. In the UK most porn lovers have broadband and you can make nice large high resolution files for them; but if your site is of an international nature, remember that many of the up and cumming nations are beginning to have disposable wanking money, but not broadband access, so it's an idea to have also a lower resolution option for them - something like a 250kb/s file size.
