Hi Dave, I am not a video tech, so I asked our video dept, and this is their response:
"Its not the balance of the lighting, but the spill light from props around it and the set colour. The room had yellow walls, beige chairs and caucasian actors (beigish). It gives it a yellow beige feel. Look at the few shots where the poker chips are in close up they are all full strong colours with no colour spill, as are the close ups of one of the girls with the brown wooden case in the background, and then look at the shots of beige background and beige actors.
All the light in the room was balanced to the same temperature.
If anyone has any other ideas we love to hear."
