The hypocrisy will at least abate when knob heads stop buying piss-taking papers like 'The Currant Bun' 'News of the World' 'Daily Mail' 'Star' and yes, 'The Express.' I bet they all sit their in their offices laughing up their sleeves at the stupid pathetic punters who don't really know what day it is, can't work out an objective opinion for themselves and instead take their que's from the editorial suggestions of the papers concerned.

At least the posh papers credit their readers with a bit of intelligence and although none of them are totally free of propaganda and spin they don't lay it on with a trowel like they do in the Proles papers because their upmarket readership wouldn't stand for it.

You can't blame the papers - if it's not broke there's no need to fix it. By purchasing tabloid newspapers millions of people are in effect saying, " I like it, give me more please." Tabloid editors and journalists are only too happy to cook up more of the same bilge. Hey, it's much easier to cobble together an "Exclusive" front page story about ?Jordan? acting lairy at a party and ?cheekily? flashing her knickers as she got into a taxi, than it is to do some real journalism about things that actually do affect us and therefore matter. Instead we get the same formulaic shit about "Dirty Vicars" Premier League footy players "Playing Away From Home" "Evil Porn Barons" and that tabloid godsend - the "Paedophile" the only class of person left who you can, without fear of censure, whip-up a mob against.

But the Tabloids have to play it like this because they need stuff to fill their pages everyday. Most of the examples I mention are non-stories. Who in real life gives the slightest fuck about whom the Vicar is shagging or the footy player or the heir to the throne or the Prime Minister? Who gives a fuck that nice Mrs Smith across the road is by day 'Diana the Devine Dominatrix'? Good fuckin' luck to 'em all I say. And who cares about the banal adventures and utterances of Posh 'n' Becks, 'Will 'n' Gareth' and - 'Atomic Kitten? for Christ's sake? No one I know. The tabloids are full of this shit because they need lots of content everyday that will be easily digestible by the hard of thinking. If the story is a non-story they will put a spin on it to make it sound alarming and serious. To make it newsworthy. Hence all the "Evil Porn baron" Vile Pornographic Material and "Sleazy Hooker" shit.

It you don't like it, don't stand for it. Don't buy the papers; tell 'em in no uncertain terms what piss-taking tossers they are and that you've finally rumbled 'em. And tell everyone else to do the same.

I see what you're saying and agree .... to a point. I wouldn't expect everyone who watches and / or participates in porn to admit to it in public. It's people who act so vehemently against it in public but no doubt use it in private who annoy me.

I have an uncle who used to complain about my sisters skirts being too short, too much sex on tv, porn should be banned etc etc. Found a whole lot of porn in his house dating back decades.

I don't expect joe public to announce, 'hey everyone I use porn.' However, don't be a hypocrite either.

It's fairly standard stuff, isn't it? Mass media is happy to take the ?s porn generates and run scores of porno phoneline ads but when it comes to anyone owning up to enjoying a nice quiet wank in front of the VCR or bog, it doesn't happen.

I personally have no beef with the hypocracy of the media;
after all,their job is to generate income for their masters- Murdoch et al.Same with the "Girlie Mags" . Tittilation sells Print and by definition, we, the contributors to this very site are conspiritors to this same Hypocracy.

The tue hypocracy lies with our lawmakers, be they national or local politicians. They are happy to cater/pander to popular opinion, or in certain cases gain extra cash from licenses, with an additional spin-off bonus of justifying the activities of police/standard officers
