I can't tell if thats a criticism or not Paul but ?250 - ?350 is fine depending on what the girl is doing and who with, where and how long for. That kind of money is pretty damn good for a few hours work.

I'm also thinking that kind of money is a godsend when the bigger paying jobs have dried up for awhile and this is where the amateur/ semi pro market should get respect for keeping the business afloat when times are hard.

My only beef with the amateur semi pro area is that it can be a bit flaky booking shoots for next month then finding out they havent got money and cancelling. This impacts on producers like myself where I could have got a girl on a date but moved someone else into that schedule instead and can understand why models blow out producers if they get a chance to make more money because they think they will miss the opportunity.

If anything the rates not changing is reflective of a business where more models are coming in but the earning potential for the end product is shrinking.

Ive heard girls are working for ?150 for two scenes from other models so if models do that then they should expect there will be a knock on effect where a lot of producers dont see the point of paying more when they can get more for paying less and it is this way of thinking why there is any resistance to changing the present pay structure

On the models rates of pay not changing for the last 10 years:

Well thats because the going rate was established by the few who were operating 10 years ago.

Seems to make sense that if someo fthe models coming into this business do not have a professional attitude then why do they deserve professional money.

I heard one girl messed another producer around and no showed and he was offering ?750!!!!

i have been shooting new girls of late and they are unknown, they are only from up the road from me so not travelling 100's of miles thankfully, however alot of the girls I shoot don't have a long career in mind but the few jobs they do, they are happy.

I agree OEJ, but the thing is "what makes a living?" at todays rate a girl needs more work to make a living, so whereas before quite a lot of girls were happy to get a job a week (same money as shop work for a day a week), now they really need an average of 1.5 jobs a week, so even if there was just as much work, fewer girls would be able to be "full time".

I still love performing and shooting, and always happy to help people make porn. Esp if tittivation.com will be an outlet :-)

Years ago it was naughty girl & guys doing naughty stuff from solo to group...Producers then started getting fussy separating the films into divisions & sub divisions (niches) and thats where the problem started. Where a porn model could once just make movies she is now faced with what company does what? is she the right size/age/colour & if she is really lucky she might be shortlisted for a part 'yippie'.
Most models do have to do other things to survive escorting / web cams / phone lines whatever suits them best, for most new models work can be good but after the honeymoon period finishes so does the work.
From 18-25 you are in demand but after that until you reach 40 work is thin on the ground unless you have become a big star in the meantime, we advise any girls we meet/shoot with to start making their own films...its insurance for the lean times because the industry don't look after you unless its getting something out of you and if anyone says different they are telling fibs.
Big names in authority will tell you this is what happens..so always do the reverse & in most cases you get on better, its often implied we are on a crusade to make producers lives harder when in fact we have just stuck up for the little guy be it model, web designer or small up & coming producers.
The best advice for new models is that its not the best paid job in the world & if you are going to be skint at least start making your own films & start stock piling them for your own future site, make films you can afford, clear, good lighting with pics, model releases...
