Hey Holly, hope you are well.. i know what you mean with the cancelled shoots...i've had it many times already yet as you know i've only been in the industry a few months. I find half of arranged and booked shoots go ahead and half are either cancelled or postponed.....drives me mad when i spend ages arranging things for the shoot etc....hope things pick up again for you...xx

Photographers are welcome to write their own T&C, and should. I'm sure they will find it easy enough to adapt mine.

Get use to it!
I been in the industry over 20 years and its just getting worse! and i do not know which do more no shows or cancel models or photographers?
I run a couple of studios in the past and found both are just as bad.
Its so easy to promote now with the internet so every girl thinks she a model by posting couple pics and things its quick easy cash!
Then with digital every bloke thinks their a photographer and books models then realise its going to get expensive to pay them!
NO WIN !!!!!

Holly you are not wasting your time, there is frustration in every industry I get frustrated at work almost every day but you are currently one of the most beautiful whores in the business and I as a fan would be sad to see you go.

I've considered the same thing 3 no shows/cancels one after another earlier in the year...
One told me she had a better offer of money to work with a BIG producer.. Cheers!
One cancelled the night before...
The best is the one who cancelled and apologised via email for cancelling to another model (and not me) after she replied to my no-show thread. Then obviously forgetting she no-showed me txt me a few months later asking for work!
personally I've never not done a shoot i've committed to, but i will probably call it a day in 8 models time... 100 models and out.

As a tog I have let a girl down once and felt so bad, but had to go to hospital and the communication had became really bad anyway.
Then recently I have been let down by 3 different girls in a row.
One gave me a text at 9am to say she was ill, it was period.
I replied that there was plenty of other scenarios we could do.
She then decided she ws going to arrive for 2pm and at 3.30pm I stopped waiting and she had stopped answering her mobile.
This was a very well established and respected model.

Unfortunately this will not be the last time this subject gets aired on this forum,it happens on and all to regular basis.I have to agree with GLAMS, ive been in this business over 20 years and it is DEFINITELY getting worse. In the last 4 years i have seen both sides of the fence, being a Producer this year alone i have had countless let downs by models, and i have a model that has worked out of my premises and she has had contless no shows by TOGS,so yes its a 2 way street but is not getting any easier from whichever direction your coming from.

Holly, I'm sad to read you have been messed about so much recently.
Short of an accident with major injuries there is simply no excuse for a no-show. Cancellations by either side inevitably happen from time to time but should be with as much notice as possible. Sadly some of the last minute reasons given are not always genuine.
Are the cancellations mainly by amateurs and / or those implying they are professional?
Is is mainly those who enquired then booked from a specific source?
Either way while it takes time be sure to check past work.
Anyone serious should be able to link you their page on AIR or similar and be able to give references while those seeking shoots with model release must have an outlet for the photos / video too.
Maybe search for them on BGAFD ?
If any doubts insist on some form of deposit e.g. they send you voucher code for ?20 phone top-up before you give out your number.
If you have to travel insist on a second larger deposit to be received a few days in advance and ideally check with the venue you or at least the photographer are expected.
You are established with excellent references so no reason for anyone serious and genuine to be put off by your requests.
Ultimately looking over a longer period only you can decide if the time taken answering enquires, confirming bookings and preparing for shoots is worth the return you are getting.
