Anti-Piracy Action Program any good?
Re: Anti-Piracy Action Program any good?
After many years in the adult sector I run a number of adult related businesses that encompass Crowdfunding, Content Sales, News Service and offer consultancy service for those looking to grow or enter this crazy industry.
Re: Anti-Piracy Action Program any good?
As I recall, ATVOD have 'guidlines' that are not legally enforced.
I'll be coming to the next meeting. Would love to hear what the ATVOD reps would say if some association came along and threatened to take away the money that pays for THEIR kids food.

PS: with all due respect OEJ, when you say it was 'uncontested to flourish'.
We all know that Parliamant have oxygen-theives like Jacqui Smith who helped pass legislation on porn she hadn't even watched.
I agree with you totally, it is a stealth tax.

PPS: has ATVOD thought about blocking the Tube sites in this country? Simples...
Re: Anti-Piracy Action Program any good?
Mister C, sorry t upset you but ATVOD do have the powers to make it happen as it is an EU wide law with each EU state building from the basic agreement to have a service that they feel best suites them.

Re: Anti-Piracy Action Program any good?
It is legally enforceable as Pete said on the podcast we are actually breaking the law by not informing or registering our sites with them.
It is deemed criminal therefore enforceable. I did ask if we could expect 6 am raids at dawn but the procedure is a lot more civil than that.
It all begins with a letter and I think that's about as civil as it gets. I have no idea what they do after bu maybe they have the power to fine you an inordinate amount of money and if you cant pay it then shut you down but i do not know this as a fact.
Its a pisser they wont/ can't shut the tube sites down which makes me wonder what the hell is the point of all this in the first place then?
It took more than just Jacqui Smith to get this going which should make the fight to contest it all the more interesting
There is a fight ready to put in place but I don't want to steal anyones thunder at this stage and given the industries chequered past with regards support it should be interesting to see who will even want to be part of it.

I stopped cos I got a full time job that was 60 hours a week and I just didnt have the time or energy to do the site but I have now left that crap job behind and back to a normal 42 hour week so I have got the time again but it really pissed me off when you see all your hard work and the money you put up for new shoots given away for free
I will have to give it a lot more though before I start re filming as I will have to get new cameras, lights and editing software as I sold all mine
Nice to hear form you again Paul

Just to double check - If you upload your content from outside the UK but still within the EU are you in the clear?

Since this is apparently an EU law, it would be logical that you would be subject to the rules of the country you are uploading, and editing, from. I'm told, that Germany for example, is much stricter on adult censorship than we are.
