Do you have your own studio or do you hire? Were here in Bournemouth if you are ever in the south & want to hire one... Bring your own equiptment as our insurance doesn't cover when used by anyone else, you are, but our equiptment isn't.

When seeking models for shoots I am at the opposite end of the market to you as my shoots are purely for my collection not for sale / publication / distribution in anyway.

Initially I point models to my AIR profile which outlines what I require from a shoot and has a few typical photos. If the model replies that they potentially interested I following this up with an email including greater detail of the required shoot, the fee offered and links to over 150 photos.

Despite this twice this year I ended up with significantly less content than expected, in one case just 8 minutes of video rather than 60+, mainly due to the models not understanding / be comfortable delivering the requirements.

Also now I will only agree a booking if the models clearly accepts the fee offered is fully inclusive of travel and other expenses. This is after in addition to the train fare I had stated I would pay a model expected me to pay taxi fares as she lived 6 miles from her nearest station despite her never mentioning this at any point when discussing then booking the shoot.

I don't want to put off or offend models for future shoots but I really do feel like writing something similar and then if there are any significant shortcomings withholding part of the fee.

Cheers Gary, none of this is rocket science..just common sense.

If you had dodgy plumber in you'd blog it, complain, warn your friends and neighbors etc..this is no different.

Sparky..it's not about offending models it's about sharing useful information. Only a small minority of models on our review page have bad reviews. I keep my ear to the ground and the majority of these minority have had poor reviews from other producers too.

It wasn't just me!
