Satisfaction TV is available with the same dish as sky although you need a separate decoder. There are about half a dozen hardcore channels that can be recieved if you have a second dish. The Govenment has given up trying to stop foreign services from being recieved in the UK.

Why don't you write to me at
censorfreetv@hotmail.com and join the fight against censorship of subscription TV in the UK? Perhaps then we could do something to increase freedom of choice.

Yes Red triangle we should point things out to the legislators where appropriate. But sometimes there is no specific law against something and yet it is still prohibited by quangos such as the ITC. There is no law prohibiting hardcore broadcasting in the UK only the ITC's guidelines.

it is interesting to differenciate 'law' and 'guideline' - both have some sort of 'punishment' if you contravene them - so what is real difference?

The law can only be changed by an act of parliament but guidelines can be changed by the regulator as they see fit, so although its not easy, its much more likely than getting parliament to make a change.

Some good discussion, gents. As a responsible(IMHO) adult I sincerely hope that we are allowed freedom of choice when Ofcom appear. What amazes me,in this whole debate,is that the argument against"hardcore" centres around children and the access they may gain to this material. Are they(ITC) saying that the present material shown on TAC and TVX is not harmful? In certain shows ,sillhouette images are shown of penises and females can be seen performing fellatio on said image. This is acceptable to them and not likely to be harmful to minors! In others,a dildo can be seen to be in the woman's vagina, but the point of entry must be hidden as it is considered too dangerous.Really.it beggars belief.I just find the whole situation laughable. It's time we were allowed to grow up.Good kuck with the campaign.

I thought the law case against R18 material changed the BBFC guidelines and also the Customs and Excise guidelines. This didn't seem to involve any law change. I may be thick but I can't find any law that has changed , just the guidelines.

Yes there was no law change. Just a change in the interpretation of the law I think we agree on this one.
