Geez, never knew this post would generate so much interest! Want to say thanks to Marino, Sandie, Katalin and the others for there advice as for the others?... Yes I was asking about the same day test and im sorry again if I didnt make that clear. I thought I was asking for something that is very important. I have been to a few shoots where the girl hasnt had a test and didnt seem to mind if I didnt have one!! Crazy shit or what?!? I think all tests should be free along with certs. Whether your in the biz or not. Like someone said. How much does a piece of paper cost. One last thing I have to say... Why is it on this board people are so quick to jump down each others throats? A few people need to chill out I think!

No-one is arguing that you shouldn't be tested, just that you shouldn't expect something on the NHS for free, when its purpose is only to allow you, (as a private business) to increase your earning potential.

The NHS is there to provide for medical necessity, not to subsidise the expenses occured in running your business. If you need a health check-up at your doctor for a life insurance policy, you have to pay, as its not a health issue.

HIV testing should be free for the likes of terrified children who have pricked themselves on a needle dumped in a playground by some smackhead scum, not for people who want to offset their legitimate business costs.

I don't have a problem with anyone having a free test if theres a medical need for it, but yours is not a medical necessity, its a passport to greater earnings, and you should pay for that yourself.

I'd expect the NHS to pay for your nose reconstructing if you had a car accident, I'd wouldn't expect them to pay if you fancied a bit taken off so you could get more work.

I expect the NHS to pay for breast implants for women who have suffered mastectomy, I don't expect them to pay for a boob job so a model will get more work.

I expect you (models in general) to pay your own way through your business, and not demand the taxpayer subsidise you.

Peter, ANYONE can walk in and get a free test, even you can! How am I asking for the taxpayer to subsidise me? When all I want is a piece of paper proving im fit to work?!?
