Jobbydealer, you said "Very soon the R18 will become a guideline for consumers as to what they are about to purchase rather than a compulsary certification". Is this a wish or do you have information that this will actualy happen? I have heard some vague rumours about relaxing restrictions but nothing definite.

I presented this comment to the forum from my understanding of EU law when I had difficulties with the Video Recordings Act a few years ago.
Basically the VRA could be considered as a technical barrier to trade under Article 30 of EU law.
A very short answer to what is a very deep question.
