Does a film need a story line? no because it won't sell, give people non-stop action & they come back again & again.

In the early 90's when there was British input, ie Ben,Lyndsay Drew, myself and various others, there were some classic films made for Private. For example Anal Manor, a fine example of the genre. Had a haunted house, monks with flaming torches waving down fresh victims, withered hands and even a severed dick floating in formaldihyde (dont ask me why I can't remember) There were quite a few others made, cant remember the titles, but I think the word "anal" featured in most of them. In fact these first 8 or so Brit made Private films, put them (Private) on the road to International success.
Then the Bloody Foreigners thought they could do it better..............so cue new Johnny Frenchman storyline.................girl on beach, 4 Hungarians in spandex swagger up to her, "You wanna be DEE PEED BEECH? She answers, "Ya, dis ist guut idea, mein Fuhreur"
And thats it, a Private storyline!
I say bring back the Brits!!

'ordinary' porn fan throwing in his 2cents worth again. for me it has to be gonzo all the way,i.e.buttman,uncle ben(dover),phil mcavity,ed powers,one-eye jack etc.that is not to say a very loose story/theme doesn't work......occasionally.the amazing omar stuff works......most of the time.

Hi
In answer to the question -probably not. At least not if your happy to stay within the confines of the market. "Deep Throat" owes it's success to providing a wider audience with a reason to see it i.e. it was a real film with plot actors etc.
"9 Songs" may provoke a different question like "Do Story films need Porn?"
