How do you know the state of Marino's finances?

You have got no idea how little producers in this country make from producing videos. It often takes years just to get your money back, let alone go into profit.
And as for the so called 'perks'..... what a joke! When you've got a shit load of money invested in a production, and we're talking thousands not hundreds, it's not so easy to 'have a good time'!
Try it yourself and see how you like the perks.......being ripped off by pirates seems to one of them!

There has been many a reference to Marino making money and (the irritating bit now) "perks of the job" to justify a pirates/ punters opinion about getting backstreet copies of films.

Do any of you realise, that despite banging away for your armchair entertainment that it's not always fun all the time. All these comments about perks of the job being that he gets to shag the girl never compensates for making a living which pirates threaten everytime they flog and swap copies for a pint of beer or a fiver down the local pub.

Being a producer ain't all what it's cracked up to be. So next time you see a porn performer come producer pile driving away in some frumpy housewife with varicose veins holding onto rolls of fat, think again about those same perks of the job you refer to. More often than not, it is hard work, even with the cute girls, especially if a producer is under pressure to make good scenes time after time. Trouble is, most people on this forum probably begrudge the likes of those who make porn for a living therefore justifying the opinions of Mr Get What You Can.

This is particularly disturbing reading on this forum as I thought most of you were fans...My world view has been shattered, sniff- goodbye cruel world...

Well said John, well thats this topic finished on that note i think, if anyone one else got something to say it will more than likely come from a video pirate supporter with his head up his ass.

The only other people who may comment will be industry people with a very valid point and support Marino to the fullest.

Unlike some of the lamebrains on here who have said nothing but slag him off for one thing or another ...ie his finances, his earnt to much in the industry, the perks etc etc etc

bout time some of these idiots went to bed anyway ....or go do the homework they should of done when they first got home from school.

Must agree with you Phil.I do get most of my stuff from "official" outlets. But I have had some good gear from "Your Scene" because they were/are the only people offering it.(Mainly
older 80s/90s stuff which is not available elsewhere). If you buy
from the Pirates it is not as good a quality, and you you can pay the same(or more) for something you might not even get.Mario
you are right, good luck to you,and to Phil.....cross him at your peril.....McCavity.P.S.I take it that Rem is fit and well again

If it's not freely available elsewhere, then it's not strictly piracy, is it? See 2.6.
Of course, if it ain't freely available because it hasn't been released yet......

Q1. Does the copyright still apply to illegal works? i.e. if Marino has watersports in videos does he still have the copyright? Does C & E seem to disrespect all copyright?

Q2. Robin Duval is living in an alternate reality or is he just talking about 'licensed sex shops'?
Quote from Robin 'Because some local authorities do not want such premises in their area, licences are refused which may result in members of the public turning to illegal mail order or the internet. Nevertheless, it is clear that the UK R18 business is currently thriving, so I would not shed too many tears about the supposed threat to their profits and jobs. '

Q3. If Marino doesn't know about piracy, then he does now. Wouldn't it be easier to become a supplier (a licensed sex shop)?
