Steve the Stranglers are my all time favourite band I have seen them live many times, I cannot understand why they don't hold the same cult status that other bands of that era hold.
I cannot say that theirs was the best gig I ever attended, that goes to DEVO, I only caught them the once but I was blown away, any other DEVO
fans amonst the forumites ???

Got a double Greatist hits of The Easybeats-bought it on special of a buck Aussie-60p-seriously-still think i got ripped off...amazing what passed for entertainment back then in those dim dark ages
If old age swinging only involved short BJs count me out...lol

Were a bunch of hippies that jumped on the punk bandwagon. But, they were good, and did have some catchy songs with some great b-sides like Go Buddy Go.
I remember seeing them in the late 80's and someone was yelling 'Old Codger' and I wasn't sure if they wanted that song playing or were referring to Hugh Cornwall.
JJB wasn't as hard as he thought, either!

You mean the plastic pot plant wearing dudes in spacesuits
I must admit Beautiful World & Whip It were ace songs
Personally I was more of a Human League,B-52 fan around then
Stange noises from both groups to say the least

Arnold mail me and ill send you a copy of Kraan Live !
(ok they are a German band and yes sometimes they sing in German
(am i putting you off) also the German people at the gig clap in time !)
but pound for pound this is one of the best live album's ever made
the band are a sort of progressive rock funk ,amazing guitars without the endless widle widle wank lead ! tight man this band are tight !
Also the best Punk was made by Hippy's (oooo sound of safety pins being dipped in acid) check out ' The Stooges ' any of the first three albums
'The stooges' 'Funhouse' and 'Rawpower' also check out the MC5 the first album , a live album called 'KICK out the JAMs' all of these records were made before the so called 'british punk' thang all made by hippys and no cover versons of Monkeys songs (er-whats wrong with the monkeys -S56)
also check out Australia's finest punk band 'Radio Birdman' and i think they started in 74 check out 'First and the Last - New Race (Alive)'
buttsie will know more on them though !

How about these oldies?
ELP - Pictures at an Exhibition (recorded live at Newcastle city hall in the 70's).
or BJH - Berlin - a concert for the people (recorded live at the Reichtag).
