(If you interpret the song to be about child abuse/domestic violence then the Catch 22 situation you can see in the lyrics is pretty much a perfect description of what "barbarism at home" is like. Very clever lyrics once again by Marr & Morissey)

Who's to know when your time has come around, don't want to see you cry, for I know that this is not goodbye..........................The only song capable of reducing a fully grown man to tears..
