I'm not a huntsman & I don't wear riding gear or even ride a horse. In fact I don't even go hunting but I do support it & its right to remain. Just like shooting, fishing & farming.
It might not be in the experience of most of the people here but in the comunity I live in this subjest is very important. It would change forever the way we live & believe it or not there would be les foxes without the hunt as the farmers & gamekeepers round here would dig out & shoot every fox they could find.
I don't care at all for the people of Iraq, starving children or the rest of the world. Most people don't have the brains to think for themselves they just blindly follow what they are told by the media & governments without ever trying to find out if they are told the truth.
I & thousands of others are unrepentant in our views of fieldsports & we won't be forced to stop our way of life.

-"I don't care at all for the people of Iraq, starving children or the rest of the world."
And I'm sure they couldn't give a toss for your namby pamby poncey taslly ho bollocks either.
-"Most people don't have the brains to think for themselves they just blindly follow what they are told by the media & governments without ever trying to find out if they are told the truth."
Now as this wasn't a new paragraph or sentence, and was added directly from the last quote, I think you're right.
I mean these people that "follow" dictatorships, I mean they've got nobody to blame but themselves.
It's as easy as a game of armchair critic.
They should do this, that & the other and they will be sorted.
....uh huh...like that's never been tried before.
Tell me something, EJ, how exactly will banning fox hunting destroy your way of life?
In one easy paragraph if you would.

Any sort of hunting will eventually come under the microscope
Preying on peoples fear, wether it be cruelty to animals or the use of guns
in the community for hunting
I'm firmly believe before we voice approval or disapproval we need to look closer to home-the abbatoir
I still can't believe that in this day and age many city kids still believe that food like meat & eggs comes from the supermarket. They have no concept of the farm because they live in the city
Whats more cruel....fattening up an animal to later eat or chasing a wild animal to exhaustion for sport?
Personally I don't like hunting for sport of any kind....hunting which has a specific aim like culling, pest management or for food is OK in my book
cheers

Whats wrong with the people that hunt,
The people that look after the hounds are low wage workingclass people as are the terrier men & foot followers. I earn less than 13K a year. Many choose to give up a days work because they enjoy their hunting. They don't get paid but also don't expect to.
In the off season many hunts activly maintain the hunted land to ensure the fox has the best habitat to live in. I cant speak for all hunts but the Surrey Union always try to shot the fox when the catch up with it but on most days they don't catch one at all.
Yes many of the mounted huntsmen & women are wealthy people but many are also farmers & gamekeepers. Wheres the sin in being rich? Why does this country persist in knocking & hating those people that have money? Most of them worked hard to get it but it seems the majority feel the rich shouldn't have what they do as its not fair. In most other western societies they would be looked up to as somthing to aspire to be but not hear.
I think some education is needed then at least all the people that don't like or understand fox hunting can make an informed decision.

It's not about knocking rich people, it's about getting pissed off when rich little elitist snobs start bitching about stuff.

It wouldn't destroy my life,
It would however hurt many of my friends that do depend on it for their money.
Many families have been hunting for hundreds of years & I don't see what gives people the right to pass judgement on things that don't affect them. Anyone here that has been affected by hunting or lives in a hunting comunity has every right to object to it but all those that have never been anywhere near a hunt should spend their time fighting for their own rights.

Strange address of argument.
EJ, I have never been near drugs and it has never affected me, so I should just let it carry on and not spoil it for the poeple who have been doing it for years.
Ok so an ambiguous argument.
It's like "You're not from round these parts are ya"...only....not!
Anyway, as it wouldn't destroy your life, stop whining like a girl about it and get on with your life.
I have no sympathy for people being out of "work" if the ban is implemented.
Get a proper job.
Come down to the big smoke, we have loads of positions for blood thirsty nancy boys, parliament if full of them.

I have to Disagree ..........
Hunting for Sport is wrong , and Abbatoir killing is also wrong !
I dont think Supermarkets should supply Endless amounts of fresh meat !
I think meat should be Organic and rationed !
and I dont mind people hunting for their own food !
I dont think world wide companys such as Mcdonnalds and Burger King should be allowed to throw away food which is perfectly good because
its been on a rack for 20 min's (and then throw it in a bin and spray it with chemicals so poor people cant eat it !) and all because America (and the uk)has to many subsidys for farmers (and ive never met a poor British one yet!) to over-produce food !!
Us in the UK should call for a stop to Bloodsports in Europe !
bloody Spanish Bull fighting ! Bear Baiting ! Zoo's !
and then have a go at the Jap's who have aways hunted whale's ... !

The odious thing is hunting down an animal and having it ripped to pieces, smearing its blood on children's faces and inducting them in the whole sick cult. If the fox is a pest, have it shot. Ah, but there wouldn't be any "fun" in that, would there, EJ. Don't try to justify sadism through the argument for jobs/tradition or whatever.
Oh, and congratulations on your humanitarian views with regard the rest of the world.
