No offense but do you have any idea what you are talking about? I wasn't referring to fashion contracts but to commercial work in general such as being a body double for an actress in film...or how about just being in a feature film or trying get a part in East Enders?
Most TV advertisements show families, couples, etc and these people are "normal" in height and build, certainly not fashion models, these are the jobs I am referring to.
About 2 years ago Katarina Nikita was cast for an Ikea catalogue, upon doing various searches on her boy/girl pics were found and she lost the job.

I think he's full of shit. According to his logic, then:
Kate Moss in porno?
Cassandra Wilde on the catwalk?
Two exceptions that prove the rule? I think not. You need to be anorexic to do runway work, not 6ft. Amnyway, consumer pressure is moving the trend away from lanky models to more representatlvely-sized females.

by buttsie RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!
These couple of examples are the obvious exceptions not the norm.
There is still a stigma attached to hardcore shoots because of the moralising attitudes of the public who like sheep believe what the state tells them.
Porn is still not socially acceptable to the minority who call themselves the moral majority and until such time as it is b/g shoots could well damage a girls career no doubt.
I believe that what Chanta Rose says is the truth in her experience so mate unless you are a part of the industry I'd put a cork in it or apologise soon.
cheers

PS Its all about RESPECT!!!! Allie G(Probably got his name wrong as usual-forgive me I'm not worthy)

Upon reading all the opinions so far I respect a models decisions as to what she feels is right for her career. On the other hand, there are so many exceptions to the rule that doing hard core b/g will lose you that corporate contract. Sorry love, once you've got your tits and fanny out in mags, videos and all over the internet I don't think it makes much difference whether you'll get the job or not. I agree with Golustruda. Unless you are a girl that goes up to FHM type of glamour will you be considered mainstream. Otherwise girls of the g/g or b/g variety are all grouped the same way: Porn is porn.
Porn is a backdoor way into a much larger world. In short, just because a girl doesn't get those corporate contracts doesn't mean she can't make a success of herself in other fields. In the end it all boils down to not being where you're from but where you are at.
If a girl doesn't want to do b/g then so be it. Terrible loss to the nation though.

There won't be fuller figured babes on the catwalk because designers hate them as the clothes don't hang that well on them. And before you all spout Sophie Dahl, she's half the woman she used to be.....and she's become an IT girl now, not a catwalk model.

That is true also, even just doing a mens mag CAN lose you a commercial contract also but at the same time I have done all of the mens mags and a lot of girl/girl work and I still get work as a body double, as a hair model and the occasional part in films...when I go to the castings the only question I am asked is "have you done any hard boy/girl?" which I answer no to but I usually volunteer that I have done girl/girl...after all they are going to find out when they do their searches so I may as well tell them. Perhaps I have just been lucky but to date I haven't lost any work as a result of girl/girl work I have done.

You're right of course: I couldn't think last nite coz I wuz pissed, and I'm not used to it.
The fashion industry is a scam orchestrated by misogynistic gays to make women look ridiculous. As an art form it might, just, have validity (though I doubt it): as a way of making women look more beautiful it's a waste of time (pace Versace/Dior). Still, in Venice in the 16th century, they were wearing platforms so high that the lady had to be supported both sides by retainers.
