what worked for me (and I hasten to add may not work for anyone else!) was to:
1) cut down fat intake - rule of thumb is if there is more than 5g per 100g (ie 5%) avoid it; applies especially to saturated fat which ur body cannot use and stores as fat no matter what u do
2) cut down carb intake
3) increase protein intake
4) avoid processed foods completely
5) cut out butter/marg, change to skimmed milk
6) exercise - started off walking briskly for about 20 mins a day, 5 times a week then progressed to cardio work down the gym and now also resistance work, doing about 3 x 45 mins sessions a week
7) the one I struggle with is eating breakfast every day and eating meals at regular times every day cos work screws that up for me
I hope this helps, if u want any other "advice" feel free to drop me an email!

...well, given the rampant, casual sexism most of us here indulge in from time to time, I doubt any of us would qualify for the board of the EOC..........which itself doesn't seem to have any Caucasian members ;-0

You should know better by now.........!!
I have absolutely NO problem with fatty Big-Mac-snarfing lard-buckets: some of them are my best customers.
Just don't ask me to shag one.

On a serious note, it's just the usual sad human trait of feeling better about oneself by denigrating perceived 'faults' in others.

I've always wondered if there's any truth in the old contention about 'jolly' fat people being desperately unhappy wannabee stick-insects..........
