Exactly what did Punk achieve? Not very much judging by the contents of this thread and most of the ranting and whinging that occupies a lot of this forum.

gave disaffected youth something. It got rid of the dreaded Prog-rock, and highlighted social issues that were otherwise 'swept under the carpet'.
Im convinced that if Eddie Cochran didn't die in the 60's, he would have been in a punk band.
REAL punk only lasted 18 months, you can discount 'gimmicks' and 'sensational' and 'shocking' tactics from 1978 onwards

I see the RSPCA recommend that Annes dog should be destroyed, but aren't so quick to condemn the royals 'hunting,shooting,fishing' past-times. Bit worried they might get the Royal in R (Rspca) withdrawn? Hypocrites!!
