Year on year it seems Council Tax increases more than the rate of inflation, cuts are made in services but those fat bastards keep getting higher and higher allowances. I wrote to my Council some years ago asking if it was true that the allowances were paid to compensate councillors for loss of earnings when their employer docked their wages because of their attendance of meetings. etc. And if that was the case why did all councillors get paid even if they were retired. I was told the information was "classified".

One of the now many things that really make me and the wife angry is that we have to pay ?1500 a year council tax. If they re-rate according to current house values (as this beloved Chancellor would like to do) we would have to pay ?2700 pa.

The only thing we rely on the council for on a regular basis is bin clearance.

In cold weather we grit our own roads from the bins in the village. No gritters. We have no street lighting (we don't want any) but we get charged the same as the nearest town. And as for the police, we never see any !

BASTARDS !!!!!

i still have my t-shirt that said 'stuff the poll tax' looking back now i believe that it was a good idea. lets face it any one who works for a living would be better off under the poll tax because the lazy dole/sick scrounging bastards would have to pay their share for local services
