Caught a repeat of this a while back, and boy it was bad. Risible, po-faced nonsense complete with spray-on dirt, its main contrivance being every single officer, male or female, seemingly unable to get through the simplest of exchanges without spouting some deathless pearl of wisdom. And how much existential angst can one precinct take? I'd never seen so many furrowed brows. These were Greek gods sporting holsters instead of togas - a glutonous, pacifying fantasy aimed squarely at the middle. I understand the idea was for a more realistic replacement for the old school of hero cops on TV - Kojack and the like. Meet the new boss...
