I have to agree with you, Bimmercat. There is no doubting Hitler's evil but he never seemed to have the malice of some of the other candidates. This is borne out by his reaction when Field Marshal Gerd von Runstedt(1875-1953) declined to speak to Hitler on the phone regarding panzer deployment, with the cutting remark, "I don't discuss strategy with Corporals." When Field Marshal Keitel told Hitler what Runstead had said, Hitler remarked, "It's all getting too much for Runstedt. Send him on six weeks leave". I can't see Stalin doing that!

That is assuming you accept that Judas "sold" Christ out. There is a persuasive school of thought that Jesus couldn't have achieved his true potential---being resurrected after execution by the Romans---without Judas being the only disciple understanding that enough to "betray" him.
Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Amin, Saddam, a number of mediaeval Popes and quite a dew monarchs should be on the list.
