Bearing in mind Keane has prepared for HUGE games in his career, Im sure he has a better idea than most about mental and physical preperation than most.
McCarthys idea was proven to be shit and Eire stuttered before finishing in a position that under Jack Charlton would have been unacceptable.
Roy was also carrying a long term injury which would have hampered his performances on the world stage, but all said and done, Keane didn't lose too many friends over his stance and many Irish fans were glad to see McCarthy go.
