Mr Frame is probably Scotland's greatest living songwriter, and Del Amitri and Deacon Blue had their moments---but I couldn't really get into Simple Minds.

As for Buttsie's point about Ultravox---yes, they were boring, but nothing compared to the dirge merchants that were Depeche Mode. Slit your wrist techno-shit, if ever I heard it.

I wouldn't say that a Curly Wurly Bar was 2 Ft long but they were longer that what they are now. Like with everything, including technology, its going into the realms of Micro, instread of Macro.

The '2 feet' was merely to make the point that, to disguise a price increase, manufacturers dreamt up the wheeze of reducing the size of the bars instead, thereby lowering the unit-cost but keeping the retail price the same.
It was probably the same chap who thought we wouldn't notice that ?9.99 is pretty much a tenner, rather than 'only' ?9..........

I expect by now he's in a secure institution, being treated for his delusions (hopefully with lots of ECT, largactil and big hairy male psychiatirc nurses).

Isn?t this an amazing thread, steve56 makes a valid point about LDM and Jimmy Saville and suddenly it gets changed to Simple Minds and Curly fucking Wurlys, now I would personally die to see jj and his mate giving the birds the eye with his tank top and john travolta moves, as I have stated before I am a big Simple Minds fan or was anyway and some of Del Amitris songs were classics as well in fact I need to get a couple of their cds, yes Roddy Frame is a scot came from East Kilbride as it happens Magoo, any other questions address them to steve56 as he assures me he has his curly wurly measuring tool at the ready.

I can't see how S56 made a 'valid point' about LDM and Sir James, when the two couldn't possibly have been in the same place in '73, unless he was baby-sitting for the Mckenzies, and she was about 5 years premature.
I couldn't dance to save my life, that was the point, we stood around like a pair of slightly animated statues- had we been better on our feet, we might have stood a chance of some tonsil action.
I will send you a photo of me+T-T etc.......in about 50 years, when the files are finally opened by the Government.
Yes, those shots, released prematurely, could compromise the security of our nation..........
