When at its peak...end of the first season?
Fair comment
It reminded me far to much of a day time soap without the closeups
Full of twenty something beautiful people
Thats one thing Seinfeld never was...more ugly people per square inch than any other series I can remember
cheers

Whatever it's alleged early strengths, the shit hit the fan when, at the end of series one, each of the six demanded something to do in each episode. Result, all over the place with unfunny B and C plots interspersed with the dull A plot. And to concentrate on the least interesting characters (I mean, Ross and Rachel are SOOOOOOOOOOO boring) was also a mistake.
Frasier has gone down the road of the should have given up years ago sitcom. It still has the power to make me laugh out loud, but nowhere near as often. The worrying thing is that Grammar is talking about doing a Frasier spin-off, still featuring him, next. Ten more years . . . .

Lisa Kudrow has never been funny IMO
Acting the idiot is fine and very few do it well....Kramer came close....
Skippy from family ties was definitely in the running
and that little black kid Steve from family matters? was even closer
Frasier had its moments but the longer a series runs the sillier the plots become...things that were once humorous are just regurgitations from previous episodes
Everything has its used by date...just a shame TV is ruled by ratings and not quality control
Get out when your on top not when your on the slide
Need another Married with Children
Grounded for Life isn't bad if you like flashbacks
cheers

I recall seeing the earlier episodes of Married With Children, when the producers weren't frightened of offending---and therefore teenage daughter Christina Applegate was a slut rather than a stupid blonde. Al Bundy was the original Homer Simpson.

It's not that Friends isn't funny, it's just tired. The same things don't make us laugh anymore. C4 have repeated episodes that many times, it's just turned the audience against the show.
Do we really need to have the fucking thing on over 10 times a week? Fuck off do we. People are sick of it. I like Friends, but the same fucking episodes over and over?
If you showed me Seinfeld over and over i'd get bored of it no matter how funny it was the first time round.
If you gave me sponge pudding and custard (canned) i'd get bored shitless after a week or so. Infinate repetition destroys enthusiasm. C4 are just too fucking cheap to put anything else in any slot where they nothing to show. Fucking morons shouldn't be allowed to have a TV station.....

The problem with Channel 4 is that it's trying to be fab and groovy and yoof culture (another oxymoron). Therefore, it'll shove quality, well-written drama like NYPD Blue, Six Feet Under or The West Wing into a graveyard slot, while filling up its main schedules with Celebrity Hairdressing Cooks From Hell Brother 9, with Davina McColl or Graham Norton or that useless lanky git from T4. The exception is Saturday nights, when early evening is, at present, a delight of history documentaries because they know "the kids" will all be out.
It's the broadcasting equivalent of trying to watch your dad pull some sexy young thing in a nightclub. Pathetic!
And I bet Channel 4 still uses Brylcream on its hair.
