Here we go again. Exaggeration.
Who says getting rid of all the cars will solve the problem?

To state the obvious(well it was to me)East Tyler & Houston are probably on a similar Latitude line henceforth the same Ozone warnings
Weather patterns are Global so if say the Europeans went all enviromentally
friendly and the USA didn't Gloal Warming and extreme weather would still continue
Emissions have to stop worldwide which is why the Kyoto treaty is farcical
First World countries rain in their emissions only for the Third World to take up the slack...recipe for disaster IMHO
From memory isn't China classed as 3rd world?
cheers

sorry Bimmer, I can understand your sceptism on the car front; but the reality is much bigger than that.
These petty arguments about who drives what etc will not solve anything. The only way to make a difference is making it government and global driven. Individual governments are doing little bits, such as the carbon tax in the UK, but these will be meaningless unless we have a global aproach.
This is why the rest of the world was unhappy about the US not wanting to anything to contribute to Kyoto. Ok maybe some of the science was not great but it was a start, without a start we will get knowhere.
I hope you can accept that the world is warming up (which virtually all reports agree with) and we have to address it, because if we don't the consequences do not bear thinking about for our species future, not just how much energy we as an individual use

we are Leeds.... , and we can still beat the mighty Chester

I don't think Bimmercat wants to accept that the world is warming up, or at least that this has worrying consequences. Hence his slanted postings.
I think his latest attempt is despicable: accidentally the sponsors of the Australian scientists group got left out in the copying process.
