My favourite quote is from the late & VERY great Bob Paisley when Liverpool got to the European Cup Final in Rome in 1977.

When asked what he thought about getting there he said "The last ime I got here was in 1944 on a tank"

Classic

He wasn't in Pearl harbor in 1981 by any chance when 7 Japanese perished
in mysterious circumstances at the hands of a retired army veteran visiting as a tourist?

No more trees, or even tallish herbaceous borders, as I have suddenly developed severe vertigo (and also impetigo, lentigo, hereigo, whiskyagogo and onlyfiveminutestogo), and hence cannot get off me knees without a panic-attack.

The term 'scotch' for our northern (sometime) allies has a long and noble history- witness Dr Johnson's remark about Boswell (which may be applied equally to the worthy Crackers): "much may be made of a Scotchman, if he be caught young"......

Ah, Boswell, that ridiculous arselicker of the literary world. "Ooh, that is funny, Dr J. Can I hold your Hobnob while you finish your dictionary?"

As sycophants go, he was truly the Jennie Bond of his day.

As for Magoo's concerns over JJ, well, it was bound to happen. He's been repressing his true nature for years, and when he unearthed that 1967 membership certificate to the Tufty Club, well, that was it. Not a tree in the area left unmolested by him and his nuts.

It's just a shame you weren't driving a road roller when you saw those wonderful, unbigoted, freedom-loving, humorous, titter-ye-not-missus Orangemen. That these twats, and their counterparts from the Hibernian orders, are still allowed to parade through the streets in this day and age is nothing short of a scandal.

Btw, it was JJ I was accusing of being in the Tufty Club, but thanks for outing yourself.

Yeah? So?

At least I've got a lovely bushy tail (let's ignore the nasty scritchy claws and the buck-incisors.....).
And the ladies looooove me.........
