Exactly. Too many fans dwell on the memories of the past, rather than focus on the here and now.

A lot of fans were pissed off with TPM because they had looked for new intel on the movie almost daily for 3 years. By the time it came out there wasn't much they didn't already know. It's like watching the 66 world cup and knowing what happens in extra time.

One of the people I saw AOTC had already read the script. Fucking moron. And I had to put up with the prick moaning all the fucking way through. Two of us nearly beat the shit 'outa him.

I love the original trilogy, as much as any loyal fan. But I cannot understand the constant pissing and moaning about the prequels., citing wooden acting, bad dialogue and marketing.

Have you ever seen the original trilogy? Hammy acting, bad dialogue and after 1979 there was a mass of marketing and merchandise. The big difference being you bought all the merchandise, were too young to know a good acting performance and realistic dialogue, and had no internet connection where rumors flew on a daily basis, regarding script, plot etc.
Stop dwelling on the past and making comparisons.

If you want to see some real shit SW action, try watching the SW Holiday Special. That beggars beyond fucking belief. Jeezuz christ, Chewie's dad building a plastic model of an X-Wing, sitting on a 3 piece suite while his wife cooks dinner for Earth Day celebrations in a fitted fucking kitchen!!!!!
FUCK ME!!! If someone ever offers you a copy tell 'em to fuck off and buy some crank instead. It'll fuck you up less.....

Okay, i've quit ranting now :)....

To quote Mr H Ford during the making of Empire: "You can't type this shit, George, but you sure as hell can't say it."

Hate to say it but Jar Jars back for another go

Good to see George has selected some Aussies...got a real eye for something has George...been watching to many episodes of Aussie Sci-fi series Farscape IMHO

Lets see theres Kristy Wright from Home & Away

Claudia karvan from every B-grade film ever made in OZ

last but not least Graeme Blundell better known to Aussie audiences as Alvin Purple from the seventies...irresistible to women

Fortunately their only in pre-production so theres still hope that these 3 will get a better offer from someone else and disappear

cheers

Eh?

Oh, I see. So George Lucas turfs up after fifteen years to make the same mistakes as earlier, and we're all supposed to shut up about it because we didn't moan to begin with? That's taking you're audience for granted on a grand scale, and about as arrogant as it gets.

People have probably given the original trilogy a lot of critical leeway because at the time there was nothing else quite like it, plus they're fond of it a sentimental way. But cinema and audiences move forward, and mainstream fantasy is commonplace. Whether or not the new trilogy matches the old isn't really the point, especially for the younger audience Lucas aims for; it's whether the new trilogy meets today's expectations. We've got Spider-man, X-men, Matrix, Potter and, of course, LOTR, most of which leave the new trilogy lagging behind by some distance, no matter how much money and new technology Lucas throws at the screen. That's the real comparison.

There had been rumours since before Episode I was released that Gabriel Byrne was going to show up, possibly as the younger version of Peter Cushing's Morf Tarkin. No sign of him on that list.

I suspect it was more the line you can see him forcing out through gritted teeth and the vomit stuck in his throat: "Luke . . . . May the Force be with you."

I was/am a massive fan of the originals and had literally hundreds of the toys. My old man gave them away to charity when I got older, i'm totally gutted now looking at how much some of the stuff goes for :-(
