Weaving is when you have the few remaining strands of hair woven together to make it look thicker
A rug is a total replacement

didn't geoff boycott have some sort of hair transplant a few years ago? saw him on ch4 cricket recently and seems to be back to the nearly bald look! mind you when you've battled throat cancer i don't suppose hair, or lack of it, is high on your list of priorities.
