I think you'll find its your Foreign Policy & Multinationals that are the main reason foreign people hate/detest/dislike America,not any images coming from inside the US of A
Even so Concrete Jungles are the same everywhere(Cesspools with very few redeeming features) which is why People retire to the country.

Theres one stereo typical type that I've heard of first hand
"Loud Mouthed Pushy Yank Tourists"....retired...cashed up...rude/pushy
but never as badly behaved as a Canadian who you innocently call an American
Probably not the norm(neither is Clark Griswald-OINK) but you know the media tar everybody with the same brush
