It goes back to Red Robbo. When the Trade Unions, sponsored by KGB insurgents well and truly butt-fucked British Leyland in the 70s it was doomed. Since then it has prodcued second or third rate shite. Remember such classics as the TR7, Morris Ital, Triumph Acclaim, Austin Princess all fucking rubbish. The Rover SD1 was a good car, the Discovery a move forward and the MGF OK.
It has wasted a fortune of tax payers money on re-hashing low grade products.
Name one top quality car, which was a real class leader? The current Rover 75 is good value and drives OK, nothing else is any cop.
I worked in the automotive business for years and feel really sorry for the Longbridge staff but in modern business you need competitve and innovativc product which is reliable and value for money and Rover doesn't offer this anymore.

Why can't someone come in with money- real money- and do new models from the heritage brands- Austin, Morris, Standard-Triumph, Riley and Wolseley?

Re: Invalid Warranties
I just brought a Rover 25 (used but from a Rover dealership) at Xmas, of course, a 12 month warranty was included. Now Rover say ALL warranties are invalid. I contacted the dealership who confirm it is invalid 'at the moment' and wouldn't enter into discussion about a rebate on the price I paid in full.
