it dont bother me either,bowie,townshend,lennon; etc xperimented with gay sex too.probaly more others too,iagree surely it would have come out in the 70s if true.
the original story was that he was discharged from the army with a broken ankle sustained during a training parachute jump.
this latest claim was that that was made up and the real reason was that he was showing 'homosexual tendencies' during his stint with the 101st airborne division.
apparently he pretended to be gay to get out of the army, and the broken ankle story looked better on paper so he always said that.
i'm huge hendrix fan, got over 200 cds, subscribe to a couple of hendrix fanzines. I've never heard any stories that he was gay at any time in his life, other than the 'pretending to be gay' bit.
