Love Will Tear Us Apart.

Also: Don't You Want Me, True Faith, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, With Or Without You, Ashes To Ashes etc.

I suppose musically the 80s were sandwiched between two better decades, but there was still a lot of good stuff there.

A lot of what happened in the eighties was from bands formed in the seventies it would seem if you forget the one hit wonders that the big boys were pushing

It's not really a typical Beatles song, and if you thought it's a bit
like "She loves me.." then you would be in for a shock.
But it's not my favourite Beatles track by a long way;
I prefer "Eleanor Rigby" and "Magical Mystery Tour" and
"Here comes the sun" and "I am the walrus" and ...

A good one, but very much of its time.

> 3. Wonderwall - Oasis...This is a classic..Good tune :o)

Never particularly cared for Oasis...

The tune stinks, the record is only in here for its notoriety.

> 5. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen...Another classic IMO

Yes, but overblown and rather meaningless.
I rather have here "Don't stop me now" or "Another one bites the dust".

I never really warmed to Bowie - he wrote some interesting songs,
but is really a mediocre singer. Would have preferred his "Heroes" here...

That's probably my favourite in the list.

One of a handful of modern ones I really like.

I am also a bit baffled about the lack of 1980s stuff, e.g. the Eurythmics had a few cracking songs (my favourite is "Revenge" which is not very well known).

I haven't heard of any of them, they are way after my time. And I'm not just
saying that, because it's true.

If it's any consolation, Ivor Novello was just outside the top ten (with Smack My Bitch Up!).

I should have added that anything post 1950 was after my time. I'd heard about IN with that song..LOL
