Hi Mart,
Civilisations have existed since Ancient Greece. Most would have found nothing wrong in killing an intruder who had attacked you and threated to kill you in your own home.
We have lost the time honoured concept of the sanctity of the home.

Well said Jack,
The guy I killed in mortal combat had three previous convictions for violence, GBH, grevious bodily harm and demanding money with menaces. I had none at the age of thirty.
His name was Jerry Hawley a Soho gangster. Does anyone remember him?

The law is an ASS,say no more
The crimes that made this whole thing possible were where those that invited friends to their residence then killed them, more often than not either criminals exacting revenge or crimes of passion
Isolated incidents that probably make up .00001% of all murders but yet determine what you can and can't do to defend yourself in your home, just show how poorly legislators think of those that elect them
I repeat my past example of an extremely strong guy walking into his home and finding 2 guys coming down his stairs with various goods. In the inevitable scuffle that occured he broke 1 criminals arm when subdueing them, called the Police then at the court hearing the Judge had the temerity to say,I hope you've learned your lesson.
His reposne was "Yes your honor, next time I take both of them down to the river and drown them"
When the law gives rights to the criminals it loses respect and when that happens Anarchy isn't far behind
cheers

Mike do you mind me asking what the legal outcome of this was?
You say you are a convicted murderer so can I ask what your sentence was?
I'm not going to judge you as I have been to prison myself.

Oh come on! You'll have to do better than that.
" A council that expelled a boy for bringing a knife into class has been fined more than ?10,000 for "failing" to find him another school."

Hi Eduardo,
There is only one sentence for murder which is life imprisonment. You cannot judge me because I was pleased to serve the ten years that I did because I saved the lives of my family and myself.
Under the law as it stands I was guilty because even though I was attacked in my own home by a violent man, one is only allowed to inflict enough violence as is necessary in one's defence. The judge said that if the jury thought that when I got the upper hand I went on and on, grossly past what was necessary then I could be found guilty of murder.
Indeed when Igot the upper hand I finished him off because I knew that if he recovered he would come back. I cut his throat.
However since being released I saved another person's life in Holland, a policewomen hostage held at gun point. I am not violent or aggressive and have never seriously injured anyone else, before or after, in my life. I have had a few fights but never lost my cool and kicked a man when he was down.
I think the law should be changed.

ISN'T invited.
There was a Cape Fear edpisode of The Simpsons where the Private investigator told Homer that if someone comes into your home you can do what you want to them. Homwer then sticks his head out the kitchen windows and invites Ned Flanders in, and waites in the kitchen to beat the crap out of him. Just as Ned's walking in the PI clarifies that it doesn't apply if you invite them, so Homer tells Flanders to get out again.
I'm all for this type of law over here.
