I met Vinny Jones a few times when he played football in Sheffield - and despite playing hard on the pitch - off the pitch he was a very genuine bloke and I don't think he ever did anything "off the field" to cultivate a hard-man image. His on field persona is what has won him the hard man imgae and the hard man film roles - nothing more nothing less.

Ah, but for all his disagreeable ways, he can knock out some good quotes. I remember when he had an altercation around 1997 on an aeroplane, when he faced reporters about it he said "it was some panhead who wants stabbing" - together with Shaun Ryder he shows that drug-aflicted bombed-out Mancs can still string words together even off the cuff.

Agreed about the linesmen & referee issue
but i still say no matter how good the linesmen are you can't be watching 2 places at the same time which is what is required to get the offside rule correct
Personally I think they should do away with linesmen and just have 1 referee, then stunning acting performances like that of Rivaldo against Turkey in the world cup of 2002 would get their just deserts
What harm in allowing the play to continue until a result happens and then checking it after the goal has been scored?
cheers

It would still be too stop start for me but I suppose until it's tried properly then we will never know if it works or not and even then some will like it and some will not.
I'm all for getting the cheats out of the game but the human element is part of of it for me and as I said before then they still made fuck ups in the Super Test when decisions were referred.
Personally I don't expect referees to get all the decisions right all of the time. I just look for them to get most of them correct, particularly the big decisions.

Top of my list would be El Hadji Diouf, a few seasons ago I probably would have said Robbie Savage, but as I support Blackburn I can't now lol.

I don't mind Savage so much as he couldn't get the better of Joey Barton at your gaff last season! But ask any City fan and they'd batter Keane given the chance.
Roy Keane...
