"The good news is that I believe Dennis Nielsen is up for parole next year, somebody correct me, now he murdered 16 people in cold blood."
Now THAT is scary as he is one evil, crazy fucker. Surely he can't ever be released back into society?? But then with this being the UK and all that human rights bollocks I suppose it will be a case of, "Welcome back Mr Nielsen, is there anything we can do for you?"
I thought there was a list of criminals too fucking loony to ever be released like Ian Brady and several other "Uber-Nutters." If Nielsen doesn't qualify for that list then who the fuck does??

And why not 25 years for all unprovoked murders? If someone is attacked and murdered in the street or their home, skin colour is irrelevant - it's still a murder.
With this particular case, the sentences are what they should be ... but the courts and government know it'll be reduced by the European court some years down the road. All they want is an immediate deterrent effect and publicity to show the law is working. When the pair have 'reformed' and their team of lawyers appeal, eventually they will go free much earlier ... but by that time 95% of the population will have forgotten all about Anthony Walker and another government can say "nothing to do with us, mates" ... it was that Labour lot ... and Europe.

Talking of evil gits I wonder when Ian Huntley will be allowed back? That is, of course, if he can tear himself away from the Playstation I understand he has in his cell.

What a miserable view of life you have nachovx.
I'm still trying to remember if you've ever made a positive, upbeat posting.

I'd define it more as a realistic prognosis.

Both Rude Boy and Mad Burt have the wrong end of the stick for this as the Judge said that they had to serve a minimum of 24 years and 18 years respectively.
That is the absolute minumum that they must serve. Of course it could get shortened on appeal but that's probably unlikely as they (or anybody) can only get their sentenced shortened if the original sentence that was dished out by this Judge was deemed to have been harsh or excessive and that's the crux of it in that it has to be "this Judge".
Therefore the Judge would have had his clerk research the sentences "he" gave out for other murderers, then add on the racially motivated aspect and that's where he would have come up with this length of sentence. Hence if he's done his research properly then the appeal will fail.
So I would bet that the Judge has done his research.
As for reduced sentences then it is simple to work out.
If somebody gets a sentence under 4 years then they do half of the sentence. So if someone gets 12 months then they do 6 months time (and maybe eligible for a tag after 4 months).
If they get 4 years or more then they do two thirds of the sentence which is why alot of sentences are exactly 4 years.
Lets also explode the myth of good behaviour. It doesn't exist and hasn't for donkeys years. If a prisoner gets in trouble inside then they must be prosecuted in a criminal court. Kanga roo courts in prison have gone.
Lastly how do I know all this. Well I spent a few months in prison myself about 6 years ago so I can tell you from my own experience.

Dave it is actually cheaper to keep somebody in prison for 40 years than it is to execute them as by the time it goes through all the legal process then it costs about 6 million in legal fees to do so.
These figures are based on american cases.
