I feel any allegations of snobbery and egotism against me and the rest of the enlightened are disingenuous. They seem diversionary. They have an air of desperation about them, like lashing out with a blunt weapon when you?ve run out of things say and can?t accept that you have lost an argument. Just for the record I?ve got to that stage in life when I?ve got over all that snobbery and egotistical palaver. It?s a young man?s game ? wanting to show he?s the smartest, coolest, richest, etc, etc. But nowadays I?m just as liable to go down to the shops in a Vauxhall, as I am a Merc. Unless there?s a specific need for me to impress someone (a lady or potential business associate, for instance) I find I?m content, even comfortable, keeping a low profile.

Not much to discuss, tbh, Dibbler, she is scathing in her observations and is absolutely correct, IMO, into the bargain.

She also makes implications about some girls not necessarily being 'chav by blood' - but 'chav by choice', ie acquiring the chav image to endow perceived good qualities and/or popularity, making some instances of chavvery increasingly sadder when normal, erudite kids CHOOSE to go chav as opposed to being imbued with it.

Life itself is a personal choice, all of our decisions being vital. Chavvery and neddishness are daily reminders to me to do in life WHAT COUNTS. To be with loved ones, friends, socialise, better myself. Personal choice also prevents me from, hopefully !wink!, being a twat, and assists me in my attempt to be a good person!

Thus, I think the issue of choice was a large subtext in her piece- choose to have the strength of mind to get on with your studies (sure, booze up and have a laugh with your mates if need be) or choose to be a twat and regret it (if capable of realising what regret is) until your dying day.
