Im really surprised I appear to be in a minority here! Let me make it clear that I would love England to succeed! But I want them to play football like Argentina did against Serbia and the Ivory Coast, or Spain against the Ukraine. To see them struggle against Trinidad was just embarrasing!Which performance would you pay good money to see?

Crouch - in spite of 6 or 7 goals in his last 9 games, he looks as if he scores by accident rather than by design. He won't get a sniff of the net against a side like Germany, Argentina, Italy, Brazil etc. A waste of space.
Owen - Still coming back from injury. Being brought off early in both games will no doubt have done wonders for his confidence! Well done Sven!
Rooney - If we all start beliving we can't win without him, then it doesn't say much for our faith in the rest of the team! Yes he can change a game. But it's a little worrying to pin ALL our hopes on a 20 year old!
Walcott - Why bring him if he doesn't get to play? Defoe was the obvious choice as a like-for-like replacement for Owen.
Central midfield. If we continue with 4-4-2, either Gerrard or Lampard has to make way for a holding midfielder. When they both play together neither plays as well as they do at club level, often both hanging back too deep or both going forward at the same time leaving us vulnerable to the counter attack.
Beckham - Quality of his passing is now too erratic. One game he delivers pass after pass with almost pin-point accuracy, the next he's all over the place. At least Lennon has the pace and the wit to pass his man and is just as capable of delivering quality passes from the byline.
Possible Solution to our current lack of guile: Play 4-3-3
Midfield made up of Lampard, Carrick and Gerrard
Up front Joe Cole and Lennon supporting Rooney or Owen
When attacking, Ashley Cole and Neville can supply width. If attacking down the left, lennon becomes a second forward supporting Rooney with Joe Cole and Ashley Cole down the wing, and Joe Cole supporting Rooney when Neville and lennon attack down the right.
With Carrick holding in midfield, both Lampard and Gerrard can move up in support of the attack.
When the opposition have the ball, Joe Cole and Lennon can help out the midfield so we have either a 4-5-1 or a 4-1-4-1 formation that can still quickly break on the counter.

I think you will find that bigal78 is pronounced as "Big Al 78" ya couple of fannies if you are going to be rude ...
I think it is fair to say that I have not been impressed by England's performances to date and I am btw Scottish but the last time I checked that wasn't a crime.
I certainly do not think that England need their "confidence boosted" by the press or their fans maybe the opposite is true and some folks need to take a reality check as England's World Class players all look decidedly uninterested 2nd rate fodder for any DECENT team.
Scotland on the other hand are shite yeah ... but at least we can admit it.

Fancy I may have got my Brazilians mixed up.
A mistake on my part.
Look closer at my clues.
Towards the left of the screen.
Obscure perhaps?
Yet good fun.
Ave another go!
Nearly there?

T and T were crap and England always play crap against crap. They get nervous and thats a golden thread throughout their play. They knew that T and Ts only hope was from the set peice and stranger things have happened.6 points out of 6.The Swedish game will be the best of the three and then hopefully we'll dump out the hosts...

That can't be correct.
There would be a capital A for the proper name, wouldn't there?.

Strange how the abuse begins just because he doesn't agree with you guys.
That's the way to win friends and influence people, right enough.
