Hold on a minute gents, this was supposed to be a thread NOT about blasted football!! Arrgh!!

Ian Botham for all his acheivements on the field was a rubbish captain! OK, I know he was captain against the West Indies at their height, but it can not disguise the fact he was awful at the job. Botham has never shown any interest in coaching as far as I'm aware.

What annoyed me about Botham was that he condoned the unprofessional attitude of Flintoff (late night boozing after England had lost badly to New Zealand) during the recent World Cup.

I read that Flintoff is to have another operation on his troublesome heel. It might be the case that if it can't be sorted out then 'Freddie's' career will be at an end.
