I would go so far as to say a lot of Hitch's films were about the dark parts of HIS psyche. Fat, sexually unattractive (in his own mind) man often putting blondes at peril.

You got that right.

Undoubtedly a control freak with some deep, dark issues.

By the way, what's wrong with being fat and sexually unattractive?????

wow, I can't believe a post about one of my all time favourite TV series, I bought the whole series on a boxed DVD set some time ago , including all the feature films that were made, The Spy With My Face, One Spy Too Many, The Karate Killers, The Helicoptor Spies, and How To Steal The World.

All the Episodes always ended in 'Affair' so we got titles from the weekly adventures like, The Pieces of Fate Affair, The Masters Touch Affair, The Deadly Toy Affair and so on, always great action scenes considering the fact it was a TV series, I will never forget the sexy tight skirts the girls always wore, and Napleon Solo was such a smoothie, - 'Open Channel D' was a staple of the school playground for me....great post.

Hi Steve
here is a review:

84. The Hot Number Affair. (83)
Original airdate: March 10, 1967
Writers: Joseph C. Calvella and Carol Calvella Director: george waGGner
Awful episode, one of the worst offerings of the series. Plot, such as it is, concerns a dress. Its pattern is a Thrush code, so UNCLE and Thrush are after the dress. Wouldn't a microdot do? Sonny and Cher are two employees of a struggling maker of women's clothing and the company has the dress. And the audience has a big mess. Cher has become an accomplished actress but she doesn't show much here. As for Sonny, the less said the better. According to The UNCLE Files, this show was written especially for the singing duo. Norman Felton reportedly wrote producer Boris Ingster a memo about how bad the script was. (So why didn't Felton pull the plug before this mess got filmed?) We're told IK attended the University of Georgia in the Ukraine after the agent pulls a gymnastic maneuver during an Act IV fight. Perhaps the worst thing about the show is the terrible Gerald Fried score which relies on kazoos. The soundtrack also uses several Sonny and Cher songs, including "I've Got You Babe.

this site reviews the whole series, well worth a read.

apologies for resurrecting this thread but the full series appears to be ready for imminent release and as a lifelong fan I just have to have it, I have ordered it via a family member in the States, it looks like it wont be available in the UK for some time after

it looks like great value for money. with interviews with David McCallum and Robert Vaughn, commentaries and home movies from the Uncle film set....cracking stuff...
