NO, that was a retaliation break-in, for Lilly Savage stealing the original clothes off that guy from Boney M. That guy with his (ultra gaudy/extra skintight) freakish clothes, makes him look like a real cunt, but hey, only in the 70's & early 80's you could get away with dressing that camp/fucked up.

Can't say I'd ever label this forum as nasty but if you use strong language when posting opinions then you'll get the same back in return

This is so De Ja Vu to me given my post about the IMDB forums

Every subjective argument has multiple sides which essentially means everybody is right

If I'm wrong, and someone can show me where I'm wrong, then I accept it. Many of us, myself included, argue from positions of ignorance. It's embarrassing to be proved to be wrong----you feel an idiot. But it's better that than continuing to argue a position you know is wrong just for the sake of it.

Opinions are awkward buggers. They are impossible to prove right or wrong. Shakespeare or Dickens or Martin Amis? Turner or Hirst? Black Sabbath or Take That? There is no right or wrong---but each of us still thinks our opinion is more valid than the next person's.

I can't recall too many times I agreed with Keith, but his views and opinions are just as valid as mine or anyone else's. If this is a truly open forum, then all voices should be heard. This is a predominantly male domain, in spite of the site name, and very few women post here because of the abrasiveness and rudeness of some of us. It's not going to work if whoever shouts loudest is deemed to win, and it isn't going to survive if contributions by knowledgeable people are snootily (I did accuse KR of being snooty; he was, I believe) dismissed.

He commented on the pedantry that's rearing its head here. That's a good point, there is a lot of it. But telling someone to read his words carefully before deigning to answer is equally arrogant.

Keith, if you are still reading this forum, you do owe Red an apology. Prove you're a big enough man, and a decent enough man, to issue that apology, and come back and ridicule me about my juvenile reading habits to your heart's content. Not saying I'll listen to you, like----there is room in my philosophy for Harry Potter and Kes----but you have as much right to post as any of us.

All Very true

In the end only facts can be disputed

When you take into account that subjective opinions are based on
a variety of factors is it any wonder we do have differing opinions

Ive watched people tear each other to threads over films/books etc
only to discover one had given it a 5 and the other a 6

Shouldn't surprise given that every demographic is represented on the internet

I didn't really get involved with the Harry Potter & floods threads, and look what happens...............oh dear.

One thing I can never understand is why people can't just attack the opinion, instead of the person who has that opinion? I mean, I can understand how you may get assumptions on a person by listening to his/her opinion, but I always try and keep personal insults to a minimum. We only know each other's online personas after all. I have different tastes and opinions to my family and bast mates, but we don't personally abuse each other............well, not seriously anyway.

We've all snapped at someone a little too eagerly at one time or another on an internet forum, and I think it's the very impersonal way an internet debate can only be, that makes it easy.

When it comes to females though, call me old fashioned, but I couldn't have been so impolite with RED -or any other female on here- as Keith was. It's just wrong.

"I am sorry I offended you Liz"

Nuff said, I am not personally bothered how much stick I get as long as it's humurous! I find the word Peadophile used under ANY circumstances offensive, thats all.

Now! move along, nothing to see here folks......
