Liverpool defenders are solid- they are a mean, stingy defence who pretty much guarantee points each week, that's why I tend to favour them.
At Premier League level, his defensive line-ups are pretty stable; at European level, it all goes to pot to accomodate a different style of football.
My fantasy teams rely on a handful of clubs doing well; putting all my eggs in one basket!!
Even the Man Utds and Arsenals have a bad day which, when they do, is pretty costly- and can be compounded by squad rotation- so maybe in future seasons I might have a spread of different clubs' players throughout the team.

Van Nistolroy is a gamble as captain. If he scores, all good; if not, he doesn't provide assists like Fabregas/Rooney/Villa/Kaka/Ronaldo would.
I've just been lucky with him so far............long may it continue!

I sometimes wish I plumped for Ruud- as you say he is a gamble; that's why I went for Raul- he's a striker in the Van Persie mould who likes to play football and link up, great for assists and bonuses. RVN is doing well at the mo, though, and was an inspired choice of captain for you, Sam.
I thought Chelsea didn't have a hope in hell of a goal, never mind a result; hence I was banking on a Valencia clean-sheet, which I thought a formality, with my choice of captain.
A striker, for me, is too unpredictable to have as captain (in fanatsy footie terms)- he either scores or he doesn't; I plump for the midfielder who is on form and has a high assist

bonus ratio, or a similar defender who is pretty much on for the clean sheet.
Each to their own!!

Indeed. I was going to give my captaincy to Pirlo or Fabregas this week as I couldn't see Van Nistolroy doing much away from home against a mean Italian defence. Luckily I decided that too much tinkering may backfire, and I was right.
Trying to get rid of Essien, but my goal keeper got injured. Now Essien's value has dropped and I can't swap him for the player I had in mind now as I'd be over budget............bastard.

I know, and in the Premiership, that's where Fabregas gets lots of extra points, even if he doesn't score or provide an assist.
