I'm sorry, Marcus, I'm with AC on this one: the wildfire spread of AIDS is correlated to the practice of anal sex, irrespective of whether it's hetero or gay. Its origin is widely accepted as amongst hetero E African tribespeople, and the infection rates there have been steadily 50:50 between the sexes.
Poor hygiene and drug abuse only came in as complicating factors later.

I heard a very disturbing thing today that said the reason that Africa was in such dire straits is that Anal sex is performed so as too avoid pregnancy-which then goes back too the non use of condoms.Botsawna as recently reported is facing exinction in the next ten years.An average of 40/50% of all communities either have HIV or Aids.

I disagree about condoms not being used in porn.I personally hate using the myself.

I saw a documentary on the pattern of AIDS infection in Africa and it demonstrated that basically those tribes that had ritual circumcision as part of their culture had a radically lower infection rate than those who retained their foreskins. It's apparently to do with the scarring caused by the initial circumcision and the fact that there is no subsequent protection for the glans. This toughens the surrounding skin making the minute tears which regularly occur in sex less likely, acting as something of a barrier against HIV. So do Jewish male porn stars stand the best chance of lasting careers?

Boz is right about Africa. It's being absolutely devastated: men, women and children. Anal sex is used as a pregnancy preventative, but the spread is also to do with the number of full-on macho cultures in Africa making promiscuity the norm and encouraging the view of AIDS as primarily a shirt lifter's disease...sound familiar?

Its bad in Africa but in the last two years cases of hiv in Australian have gone up nearly 50%.Hep C is still the biggest worry because there is no real drug too stop it,(you spend anytime in Gaol and almost everybody has hep C these days)where as HIV & Aids have numerous drugs/vaccines-not cures mind you.

Reason being doctors have been telling homosexuals for years if you are coming from behind your risk with a HIV person is 20% of catching the disease-so they take the risk-consequence-they catch it.The other reason is there are a whole new generation of young gays who didn't see the grim reaper adverts and consider themselves bullet proof-poor fools.

My understanding of the original question was related to this biz and to that extent I stand fully behind what I have stated.

I thought everything you said about HIV/aids was pretty spot on
with the little exception of puffs which should have read paedopliles disease as they were the bastards who started the ball rolling in Haiti with underage boys.Then it was passed onto the wives/boyfriends back home and soon enough everybody had it.

Latest news is, they're talking about a vaccine within the next 10 years......at least for the Western strains of the virus.
